football, boots, family, 5K and gymanstics!

So much is going on!  First, football season has started.... one of my favorite times of the year!

We started the season by attending the FSU vs Savannah State game, which was the second game of the season.
we took my friend Kari to her first game!

The game was a total blow out which was so much fun to watch!

A few days later, Connor got a new pair of cowboy boots and he has not wanted to take them off.  Here is evidence:

The next weekend, we went over to Allen's family's house to watch football and celebrate Uncle John's birthday.  We had a great day, and the Seminoles won again!

The next week, the boys started gymnastics.  They have been going for 2 weeks so far and we all love it.  Connor has to take the class with either Allen or myself and Daniel is out on the big floor of the gym with other boys his age.

First day of class listening to the coach

Daniel in action

This past weekend was super duper crazy.  It started with me taking Daniel to the Downtown Get Down.  It was incredibly crowded, so I only got one picture, but we still had a blast together!

The next morning, Allen and I got up and ran our first 5K with my mom.  It was a cross country race which made it a little harder, but it was a lot of fun and it gave me more confidence to continue running!

A year ago, I would have never imagined myself not only being able to run a 5K but actually enjoying it!  I have to say, I am pretty proud of myself and my hubby!

After the race, we got ready to go to the FSU vs Clemson game.  My mom was wonderful and got tickets for my brother, Allen and myself.
we were trying to take a nice family picture and it just was not happening for us!

We left early to go tailgate, and we ran into these guys!

These are two of the greatest guys in the world.  Mike is on the left and Chase is on the right.  Mike and I have known each other since 9th grade and he has been my dear dear friend through so much, even when I did not deserve him as my friend.  Chase and I have not seen each other in 11 years.  He was awesome to me in high school and got me through some really rough patches.  The three of us were pretty much inseperable through our senior year... in fact, we went to the same place for lunch every day for the entire year.  I love them to death and I cherish the friendship that I have with them!

Back to football....

The Clemson game was one for the ages... it was incredible!  We spent so much time yelling, jumping, screaming, etc I did not take a single picture until the end of the game and that one was blurry.

Oh, and Florida State won again!

It has been busy busy lately, but the next few games are away games, so I will try my hardest to be a better blogger!

Allen's birthday!

Allen turned 24 last week and my goal was to make his day as awesome and special as possible (with 2 little boys and not much money haha).  So, I took him to Starbucks for breakfast.  We met his mom there and we sat and people watched for about an hour.  Starbucks on a weekday morning is quite an interesting place.  Rush rush rush!
on our way
After breakfast, we headed to the Jr Muesam.  I am honestly not sure what it is called now, but it will always be the Jr Muesam to me.  My grandma used to take me and my brother when we were little.  Anyways.... we went ziplining.

Now, to preface our experience.... the day before, Hurricane Isaac went by us about 300 miles south of Tallahassee.  The evening before, Isaac made landfall in south Louisiana.  The bands were just touching Tallahassee.  Needless to say, there were 30 mph wind gusts and sudden downpours and storms the day before.  These storms did not go away overnight... they were still there.

So, Allen and I went ziplining in the outer bands of a hurricane.  Yes... we did.   And they let us.... after we signed a waiver.

It was so so so much fun.  And I was scared to death!  We went on the 3 hour course.  We made it about 2 1/2 hourse before they had to pull us down because of lightning.  It was awesome.  And really really hard.  For me at least.... Allen was having a blast.  My arms and shoulders were killing me the following day because I was holding on for dear life.  If you are looking for an adventure, I highly recommend that you try this.  It was amazing.

As we were leaving the muesam, Allen found a friend.  And caught the friend.

For Connor its love bugs.  Daniel its frogs.  And Allen its snakes.  They NEVER change.  All 3 of my boys are just alike with different bodies.

Anyways... we then went for some fro yo (see, I'm cool).  After a snack, we went to pick up the boys and get ready for dinner.  Mom met us at Longhorn so Allen could eat a steak for his birthday.... his 1 request.

The birthday celebration continued on into Friday when Allen's family took us to El Jaliscos for some mexican fun!

After dinner, we went and walked around Lake Ella with his family. We fed the ducks tortilla chips (which the fatties loved) and then we climbed the tree.

That was the end of the birthday celebrating for the year!  Allen had a great birthday (as far as I know).  I am so thankful that we have such amazing families that help us celebrate.

Allen is so wonderful to me and my boys and I wish I could give him the entire world.... but for know, we can settle for some crazy adventures!
