Jr Museum and Football!

Allen and I started this weekend spending Friday together.  We went out to lunch and went to shopping.  We starting buying things for Connor's upcoming 2nd birthday!  It was a great way to spend a Friday just my husband and myself.

Saturday morning we planned an adventure.  We decided to take the boys and meet with family at the Jr Museum.  Rhonda, Naomi and Dawn all met us there. It was so much fun and reminded me that we need to take the boys there more often.  All of the animals were out so we could see them.  Connor called the Panther "Annie" which is the name of one of our cats.  He was so excited.  Daniel had a great time too.  He was more interested in the historical parts of the museum and him and I explored the old store, house and caboose together.  We also watched the blacksmith make a tomahawk, which he later let Allen, Dawn and Daniel throw.

Allen was thrilled about this picture can you tell?

Daniel was too cool to participate in the bat pictures, so we took this one

scared me to death....

No fear of the snakes.... he giggled while he watched them move around

Later that afternoon we went over to Rhonda and John's house to watch a HORRIBLE football game against Clemson and eat dinner.  Of course, being the out of control Florida State fans that we are, we were screaming at the TV almost the entire game.  Connor decided to join in at one point:

Go Noles!

Pass interference again?!?!

Needless to say, he is becoming quite the little Florida State fan.... we even taught him the tomahawk chop!  We then ate dinner and played for awhile.  We went home and all of us crashed after a long fun-filled day.

The next morning, we woke up and started getting ready to go to church and then go visit my dad.  While Allen and I were getting dressed, packing bags, making breakfast, etc. this is what the boys were up to:

Yup, they were relaxing, chatting on the phone chilling in our bed.  And they thought it was hilarious.  I have to admit, it was pretty funny to see.  These boys are usually up to something and they usually make me laugh.

We went to church which was wonderful and then we went to visit my dad.  Its nice that he is so much closer to us, we get to go to church in the morning and still get things accomplished in the afternoon.  All in all we had a great weekend!

Have a great week!

I'm Sorry!

I am sorry that I am not doing better at this!  Its been a couple of weeks and we have been busy as usual!  So, this post is going to packed with a bunch of pictures to catch up.  Then, I promise, I will try my hardest to stay caught up on this!  So, here we go!  Let's start with Allen and Laila's birthday weekend.

We started the weekend with attending Laila's birthday party.  Laura and Aaron hosted a party at the Children's Home with jumpy houses, a water slide, water melon and an awesome cake.

We had a ton of fun and spent some time with old friends and made a few new ones.  Thank you so much Laura and Aaron for inviting us and hosting such an awesome birthday party!

The following Monday was Allen's birthday and all he wanted to do was go to the beach.  So, Sunday morning we packed up the car and headed to the coast with the boys.  We got there and there was no one else on the entire beach.  We had the whole place to ourselves.  We quickly learned why.  The yellow flies were horrible.... you had to stay in the water in order to avoid them.  Then, once in the water, you had to avoid the jelly fish.  Allen got stung on his belly, and at that point, we decided to go home.  Before we left, we did get to enjoy the water and sand for a couple of hours.  (the boys are learning how to put sunscreen on themselves.... we got the blue sunscreen for fun!)

We escaped to my mom's pool where I put down the camera, swam with the boys and ate birthday cookies and cupcakes with Allen.  It was a nice relaxing evening with my family!

Labor Day weekend was next up and tropical storm Lee was looming.  So we ran around Saturday trying to get everything done so we could spend Sunday and Monday hunkered down indoors.  Now, some people complained that their 3 day weekend was water logged, but I was happy.  I have not been able to spend 2 full days inside my house not doing anything at all in years.  It was AWESOME.  I think that I got the boys out of their pajamas on Sunday around 2ish.  Allen had Monday off, so he got to join in on the laziness.  It stopped raining for a little while on Monday, so we took the boys out to go mud puddle stomping.  They LOVED it.

This was Connor's first experience, so he was not quite sure at first, but big brother "bubba" quickly showed him the way.  Allen and I walked slowly behind then and giggled at them the whole time.  These are memories that we will cherish.

In the middle of the week, Daniel had testing for karate to get his yellow belt.  He practiced and practiced and he did amazing.  He was so proud and so was I.  In class that Wednesday he got awarded his belt along with the other boys who moved onto the next level.

He has worked so hard in karate and I am amazed at how well he does.  He really enjoys it and I hope that this is the thing that he will stick with for a long time.  I can't wait until the day that he earns his black belt!
The following weekend was packed with fun and rememberance.  It was the 10th anniversary of September 11th.  There was also a home game for the Seminoles.  We decided to take Connor to his first Down Town Get Down and after an hour or so, we took him to visit the platoon boys.

We ate some awesome corn dogs and then Conner played with Uncle Max.  It is quite funny watching these boys react to a 2 year old.... they are not quite sure what to do and apologize if they say a bad word or anything like that.  They also like to tell me how they plan on poisoning his mind one day..... good luck with that guys!

The next night we decided to go over to my mom's house to watch the football game.  It was only on the computer, so we had both computers on watching.  Its been awhile since we watched a game with my mom and it was so much fun.  During half time we took the boys on a walk and introduced Connor to Daniel's favorite ditch.  He has played in it since he was Connor's age, and still its his favorite thing to do whenever we go on walks with Grandma.

Allen and/or Daniel found a rope and the boys had fun being tied up like prisoners and trying to escape.  Silly boys.  I will never understand.

The next day was September 11th.   This day affected both Allen and I very much ten years ago, and still today.  We wanted to share a little piece of history with the boys.  So, we decided to take them to the memorial at the old capitol building.   It was really nice and we really enjoyed it.

After that, we went and visited my dad at his new residence.  It was only 20 miles from our house and it felt clean!  We had a really nice visit and we are going again really soon.  Dad looked happier and healthier.  He is enjoying eating again in the AC and is getting more sleep than he has in awhile.  It made me feel much better about how he is doing and where he is.

Later that evening, we went to Allen's family's house to celebrate Uncle John's birthday.  I was busy with a tired 2 year old, so we did not take too many pictures.  But I did capture Connor's first lizard experience.

He was very curious.  Of course Allen being a guy and a dad to boys, had to scare him a little and make the lizard bite Connor's finger... "it wont hurt him I promise".... well it did not hurt him, but it did scare him a little.  We had a nice dinner and a nice visit and we can't wait to do it again.

So, there you go.... three weeks of our lives and now we are all caught up.  This weekend we are spending some time watching football with great friends, and then we are going to have a slumber party at my mom's house with my brother.  We are very excited!

Until then, have a great week and GO NOLES!
